Why I built this
Every dating app in India was built somewhere else. Every "AI wingman" spoke English like it was 2015 Silicon Valley. Meanwhile, my friends were losing dates because the perfect Hinglish line — the one that would land — took 20 minutes to think of, and by then she'd moved on.
Dating in India is different. We code-switch mid-sentence. We joke in Hinglish, get serious in Bengali, flirt in Tamilish. Our humor is Bollywood, our references are cricket and Chai Sutta, our stakes are family + friends + WhatsApp groups watching every screenshot. Generic AI can't do that. It flattens us.
So I built WingGuru — an AI dating coach that actually gets Indians. Not a translation layer on ChatGPT. A ground-up product for how we actually flirt.
Who it's for
Every Indian aged 18 to 30 who has ever stared at a DM and thought "kya reply karu bhai." Every Bengali who wants Benglish that doesn't sound like a translator. Every Tamil who's tired of English-only rizz apps. Every shy person who wants to practice before the real thing. Every confident person who wants 15 options instead of 1.
How it works
Under the hood: multimodal AI reads your screenshot end-to-end — messages, timestamps, emojis, the emotional trajectory. Then a specialized Indian-context layer runs cultural detection: language, register, relationship stage, meme references, festival timing, city vibe. Finally, 15 replies get generated, each scored across rizz, humor, and safety.
Every reply is generated fresh for your exact conversation. No templates. No canned lines. Under 3 seconds.
What's next
- Voice replies — record & get suggestions for voice notes
- Full profile review — bio, photos, prompts (Elite)
- Date planning agent — suggests cafes/movies/plans based on chat context
- Regional dialect deep-dives (Bhojpuri, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati)
- Group chat detector — for the classic "friend circle chat"
What I believe
- Privacy is not a feature. It's a promise. Screenshots die in 24 hours.
- Kind AI wins. WingGuru will never suggest something that could hurt, harass, or manipulate.
- Made in India, for India. Bharat is our first user, not our afterthought.
